What is the difference between Art and Craft?

Is a painter not a master of their craft?

Does a basket weaver not produce works of art?

Can the fashion designer exist without the seamstress?

Particular Goods is based on an “already in your closet” philosophy of clothing design. I want to make your unworn clothing a new staple in your everyday wardrobe.

You already have a closet full of clothing that doesn't get the wear it deserves, why buy another shirt that looks good enough or a pair of pants that don’t really fit your style? Bespoke and made to measure clothing is amazing, but there are plenty of clothes already manufactured, waiting for their time in the sun. With just a few modifications, the clothing languishing in the back of your closet, the clearance section of a discount store, or the dusty racks of a basement thrift store can become a work of wearable art that celebrates your unique personality and sense of style.

Working with reclaimed materials presents a unique challenge that results in one of a kind pieces of wearable art. The raw materials themselves inform the finished product as much as my own creative vision and the desires of my clients. This collaborative process results in custom tailored garments that are as beautiful as they are utilitarian.
